Image Blur
Blur or pixelate faces, licence plates, and private info in any photo, without installing anything.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP, draw rectangles over the parts you want to hide, choose a smooth gaussian blur or a hard pixelate mosaic, then download the redacted image. Add as many regions as you need, adjust the strength, and pick the output format. The redacted areas are baked into the pixels so they cannot be undone by recipients.
How it works
- Upload your photo to see the live preview.
- Click and drag to draw a rectangle over anything you want to hide. Add as many as you need.
- Pick gaussian blur or pixelate, adjust strength, then unlock and download.
Use cases
- Blur faces in a group photo before posting it online.
- Pixelate a licence plate or street address in a photo you want to share.
- Hide names, account numbers, or signatures in a screenshot of a bank statement.
- Redact ID numbers on a passport scan before sending it to a service provider.
- Blur a child's face in a school or birthday photo for social media.
Frequently asked questions
Is the blur reversible?
No. The blurred or pixelated pixels are baked into the saved image, the original pixels are gone in the output file. There is no hidden layer a recipient can strip.
What is the difference between gaussian blur and pixelate?
Gaussian blur smears the pixels into a soft smudge, good for faces and skin. Pixelate replaces the area with chunky blocks, good for text, numbers, and licence plates where you want it obvious that something was redacted.
Can I add more than one blur area?
Yes. Draw as many rectangles as you need, up to 50 per image. Each rectangle uses the same blur mode and strength.
Will the rest of the photo stay sharp?
Yes. We only blur inside the rectangles you draw. The rest of the image is re-encoded at high quality (90) so it stays sharp.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The drawing surface supports touch drag and pinch on phones and tablets, and the controls are sized for thumbs.
What file formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WebP for input. Output defaults to the same format as your upload, but you can change it.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 25 MB are supported.
How long is my file kept?
Your input and the redacted image are both auto-deleted after 7 days. Re-download is available during that window via the secure link.
