Image Compressor
Shrink JPG, PNG, and WebP files without losing visible quality.
Compress images for faster page loads, smaller email attachments, and lighter uploads. Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WebP, pick a quality level, and download the smaller file.
How it works
- Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WebP file.
- Pick a quality level (lower = smaller file).
- Unlock the result and download the compressed image.
Use cases
- Make a phone photo small enough to email or upload to a form.
- Optimise images for a website so pages load faster.
- Compress a product photo before posting to an online listing.
- Reduce a screenshot to fit under a 1 MB attachment limit.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between quality 65 and 85?
Quality 85 is visually almost lossless and roughly half the original file size. Quality 65 is noticeably smaller (often by 4x or more) with very mild softening only visible on close inspection. Start at 75 and adjust to taste.
Does it strip EXIF metadata?
We re-encode the image, which drops most camera and location metadata as a side effect. That also helps privacy when sharing photos online.
Can I keep PNG transparency?
Yes. Keep the output format as PNG to preserve transparency. JPG output flattens transparency against the background colour on the Output tab.
What if my image is huge?
We support common photo and screenshot sizes up to typical phone-camera resolutions. Very large files (50 MB+) may be rejected; resize first or downscale before compressing.
How long is the result kept?
The compressed image is auto-deleted after 7 days. Re-download is available during that window via the secure link.
