Frequently asked questions
Is the rotation lossless?
We re-encode the output, so it's not bit-exact lossless, but at quality 90 the visible difference from a perfect lossless rotation is imperceptible.
Can I rotate by a custom angle?
Right now we support 90, 180, and 270 degrees plus horizontal and vertical flip. These cover the vast majority of real-world rotation needs.
Will it auto-correct EXIF orientation?
Yes. We read the EXIF orientation tag on JPGs so the source image is upright before you rotate, then we re-encode without a stale EXIF orientation.
Does it work on PNG and WebP too?
Yes. JPG, PNG, and WebP are all supported with the same rotate and flip options.
How long is the result kept?
The rotated image is auto-deleted after 7 days. Re-download is available during that window via the secure link.
