Text QR Code Generator

Encode any plain-text message into a scannable QR.

Make a QR that opens a plain-text message in the scanner. Useful for short notes, codes, IDs, instructions, or any text you want to share by scan.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your text.
  2. Pick a size, colour, and error-correction level.
  3. Unlock the result and download the print-ready PNG.

Use cases

  • Print short asset IDs or serial numbers as scannable QRs.
  • Share a Wi-Fi guest password as a scannable text note.
  • Encode a coupon or promo code on a printed flyer.
  • Print short instructions on equipment, machines, or storage bins.

Frequently asked questions

How much text can I encode?

QRs support up to a few thousand characters in theory, but the more text you add, the denser the QR becomes. For reliable scanning, keep it under 300 characters.

Will the scanner open a browser?

No. Plain-text QRs show the text inside the scanner app and offer a copy action. Use the URL type instead if you want the scanner to open a link.

Can I include special characters?

Yes. UTF-8 is supported, so emoji, accents, and non-Latin characters all work.

Does it track scans?

No. The text is encoded directly. There is no redirect, no analytics, and no tracking.

How long is the result kept?

The QR PNG is auto-deleted after 7 days. Re-download is available during that window via the secure link.
